Miss Our Last Webinar? Catch Up With NCSSM

Many thanks to Dr. Todd Roberts and the rest of the team at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) for leading our most recent webinar on “Effective Advising for High Achieving Students.” The NCSSM team discussed how changes made to the school’s advising program have enabled NCSSM to better meet the needs of the students in the areas of academic advising, college advising and mental health support.

Corporate Outreach and Our Member Survey

Apple and several other organizations remain very interested in partnering with us, but a critical component of our sell is information about you – our member schools, students, principals and administrators. Potential corporate partners want to know all they can about the makeup of our membership. If you haven’t already done so, please complete our brief member survey so that we can present the full picture of CLASS’ membership in our outreach.

Thank you, and click here for the survey.

Your Support Helps Propel CLASS – and Our Students – Forward

CLASS is committed to increasing opportunities and access to education for high-achieving, low-income students and students of all backgrounds, and to helping you do the same. You have likely seen recent communications from CLASS about our new membership dues, an annual $350 fee that will help us continue to provide opportunities for students across the country.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with you and advancing opportunities for your teachers, students and administrators. Whether through our annual “Closing the Excellence Gap” summit, webinar series, online platform under development to create a school-to-workforce pipeline, leadership and educational resources, knowledge sharing capabilities and so much more – we work to provide you with the tools you need to create the country’s foremost learning environments and help your students succeed. We value your support and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

CLASS Jobs Corner: LA-based Executive Director

The executive search firm Koya Leadership Partners recently circulated information about a Los Angeles-based Executive Director position with Step Up, a national nonprofit member organization that aims to “propel girls from under-resourced communities to fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women.”

Step Up is seeking an Executive Director to fundraise and build on a pipeline of local support, create new school partnerships, and build, mentor and empower Step Up staff. With CLASS’s talented and driven members, we thought this opportunity could be perfect for one of our own.

Update on Principal Partnership Month

Consensus shows most of our membership would be open to hosting other principals as a way to share best practices and learn firsthand from other academic leaders. We have reached out to principals who expressed interest in visiting schools, but if you’re still interested in visiting, please reach out to the host school or contact us for assistance.

Thanks, as always, for your support for CLASS Coalition.
