A veteran educator at New York City’s top specialized public high schools, Crystal Bonds is the principal of the High School for Math Science and Engineering (HSMSE) at the City College of New York. Previously, Crystal served as Assistant Principal of Brooklyn Technical High School. Crystal is also president of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary STEM Schools.
Crystal is a leader in developing policies to identify, support and prepare gifted and talented students for success after graduation. She’s also passionate about better integrating schools with the business community, helping to ensure the next generation of leaders has the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the competitive 21st century workforce. Additionally, Crystal is dedicated to supporting minority education, and has pioneered research efforts focused on recruiting and retaining African-American and Latino students in gifted programs.
